In house trainer and gym manager Ed Gladstone is another of Woolfox’s welcoming faces. Ed offers induction programmes for all our members and for those looking to challenge themselves or get back into fitness. Ed offers regular personal training sessions in our state of the art gym.

What does Wellness mean to you?

Wellness is finding a balance of physical & mental wellbeing. Consistency & enjoyment are 2 things to strive for when looking to make long term improvements to your life.


How do you incorporate regular training sessions into your lifestyle?

I plan my activity to match my day. So if I have 15hrs of work then my training session will tend to be short, sharp & intense. If I have less constraints to contend with then I would incorporate aspects of fitness such as running which requires more time.


What are your top tips for keeping motivated whilst in the gym?

Have a Plan!! Go into the gym knowing WHAT you’re going to do!! This can be using a program built by yourself, a fitness professional or even researching online. Having a goal for your training session, & a definitive structure reaps better results.

Intensity over Duration!! Reduce your rest time, increase your repetitions or resistance level….there are many ways to add intensity to a workout. But it doesn’t have to be the perceived hour of activity, especially when it comes to weight-training. It’s ‘what you do’ not ‘how long you do it for’.

Set Performance Targets!! These don’t have to be competitive with others. It could be something as simple & effective as being able to run on the treadmill for 10 minutes without a break. We’re all human & goals relating to how we look are understandable. But to achieve this I find that setting achievements to target help you reach these are a more rewarding & efficient way of doing this. In short it’s rare to see someone get fitter, faster or stronger & not improve their body composition & appearance


Do you have any more mad ideas for Woolfox fitness events?

I don’t want to give too much away but I’m currently training towards getting my pilots license…just kidding!


Where’s your favourite place at Woolfox?

Easy (and truthful) answer…. The Gymnasium!!
