At Woolfox Studio.
Davina has been offering classes in our Woolfox studio since we opened our doors in 2023. Her sessions promote deep relaxation and are centred around Restorative Yoga with Crystal Sound. Davina’s classes are accessible to all levels of experience. A health questionnaire will be completed before the class begins to ensure everyone is safe to partake in the experience.
“How would you describe the Woolfox studio and a class with you?”
The studio at Woolfox offers a restful place to find peace & quiet away from the distractions of the outside world.
The role as a teacher is to guide students from where they currently are in their lives, back to a centred, coherent state of being. When we leave the studio the idea is that we can carry this state of ease into our everyday lives. Learning how to rest is a vital aspect of living a profound human experience, we just have a tendency to forget, as life can often be fraught with demands. An insight that many students come to know well is; ”How can I simplify my life?”
“What is Restorative Yoga and how can it benefit us?”
Restorative Yoga is a practice of deep rest. Being guided from a Sympathetic state into a Parasympathetic state of ‘rest & digest’. From this place we have the potential to restore & tune back into our innate being, this journey takes time, patience & practice. During the class your body will be supported by props such as bolsters, cushions and blankets to allow your body to consciously relax. I have studied this artful practice under the guidance of my teachers, Tiffany Thorne, Anna Ashby & Cyndi Lee. I understand how challenging this practice can be in the beginning stages of enquiry, but take heart that the effort & devotion are well worth it.
We all share this extraordinary experience of being alive & by taking the time to allow ourselves to slow down, trust & surrender into quietude, we have the potential to access the interconnectedness within all beings.
“How did you start your journey with sound”
My first introduction to the Crystal Tones Alchemy bowls was by my sister-in-law, several years ago. After an insightful experience using my first bowl, I went on to study & complete my Level 1 & 2 Sound Healing training with Holly Husler. I continue further study the history & benefits of Sound Healing with Sara Auster & Ashana.
“What is Crystal Sound and what is the difference between the bowls”
Crystal sound is a relaxing, immersive experience of lying down to rest & listening to the gentle, yet powerful frequencies of crystal quartz & supporting instruments. The human body is crystalline in structure & we respond/resonate to the sounds that we are exposed to.
This modality is an alternative way to assist the body into moving into a Parasympathetic nervous system state of being, which has the potential to be restful & healing for the mind, body, spirit & emotions.
Each bowl has been mined in North Carolina & created to ensure that it has a stable crystalline matrix structure, which guarantees that each bowl is both unique & of a high grade material.
The crystal bowls vary in size & composition, as some have been blended with precious gems & minerals. Each one has been carefully created with an intention in mind, some have an accelerating, centring or grounding quality, depending on the size for example.
”Alternative uses for the Crystal singing bowls”’
Experts in the field of integrative medicine value the benefits of sonic tools for our health & well-being. Andrew Weil & Dr Mitchell Gaynor, have both been encouraged by the benefits of using crystal singing bowls in practice, with their clients & patients. The bowls have a wonderful way of moving stagnation, either on a physical, mental or emotional level, they could be described as mystical in nature.
